When was the last time you felt truly grateful for  someone or something in your life?

In the busyness of everyday living, we rarely take the time to pause, pay attention, and appreciate the countless gifts, opportunities, and relationships that enrich our lives. In doing so, we often miss a simple yet powerful practice that can significantly enhance our overall well-being—supporting our physical, mental, emotional, social,       and spiritual health.

Having personally experienced the transformative power of gratitude and explored its neuroscience, Vibha has embarked on a Global Gratitude Mission to share its benefits with people around the world. Through her work, she inspires individuals and communities to cultivate gratitude as a way of life, unlocking greater joy,  resilience, connection, and well-being.

Listen to Vibha’s conversation with Luis Gallardo about her gratitude journey.

There is a growing body of evidence that shows impact of gratitude on health. Gratitude reduces anxiety and substance abuse disorders, and is a key resiliency factor in the prevention of suicide. It blocks toxic emotions, such as envy, resentment, regret and depression. Research by Prof. Emmons shows the following benefits of regular gratitude practice and journaling:

  Physical Health
• Stronger immune system
• Lower blood pressure
• Less bothered by pains & aches
• Exercise more & take better care of health

  Psychological Health
• Higher levels of positive emotions
• More alert, alive, and awake
• More joy and pleasure
• More optimism and happiness

  Social Health
• More helpful & compassionate
• More forgiving
• More outgoing
• Feel less lonely and isolated

Research shows that children who practice grateful thinking have positive emotions, physical well being, feel more connected and satisfied with school and life in general. Furthermore, the practice of gratitude replaces greed with Sharing, oppression with Respect for others and violence with Peace.
